Picea abies Rydal
has lovely crimson-purple new spring shoots fading to green. Habit is upright with fairly slow to moderate growth forming an irregular pyramid shape. Prune after new growth has faded to allow new buds to develop and to keep growth compact. Height 2.5-3m x Spread 90cm-1.2m (8-10ft x 3-4ft) approx. in 10 years. Suitable for most soils and situations.
